He was walking on the back of Europe's largest glacier.
I don't know who he is. He doesn't know he's there, in a gallery, on the back of Vatnajökull forever.
This half-light I caught at the right moment, the sky opening up just there, the ice undulating beneath his feet, the pack on his back. We are so small on this thing. And yet we walk on it, we cross it, we think we know it. The glacier, for its part, hasn't noticed us.
