The light of the boreal winter is like no other. It arrives grazing, barely, for several hours in the middle of the day, and in that interval, it does impossible things to colors.

Mauves on the snow. Cold golds on the ridges. Mists that are neither clouds nor fog. One is no longer entirely in a landscape. One is in a light.

I sought how to describe this to those who were not there. I did not find it. So I photographed.
